Returning a Cell

At the end of the academic term students must return their cell phone in its original condition (with phone charger, SIM card and plastic bag).
Missing items will be charged separately according to the official price list. Cell phones will automatically be SHUT OFF at the end of the term (the day after scheduled move-out date).
The only reasons a cell phone would not be shut off:

• If special arrangements have been made ahead of time (at least 30 days in advance of the normal return date) to add days for travel etc.
• If student is continuing to study the following term. In this case the cell phone automatically continues.

In the case of damage or destruction of the cell phone, the customer agrees to pay repair costs or the full replacement cost of the cell phone: Euro 100.00

Cells must be returned to:
Florence (all programs): Student Cells Office – 29/r, Corso dei Tintori, Florence.
Rome, Milan, Siena, Perugia, Syracuse, Catania and other cities: ask your Program Coordinator.

Extension Of The Rental Period
Requesting an extension may only be done via email to italy.info@studentcells.com and at least 30 days before the end of the academic term. Students choosing to extend their cell phone past the end of academic term will be charged a Rental Fee of Euro 10.00 per month (or fraction of month). A confirmation of extension will be emailed to requesting students along with return shipping information. It is not possible to extend rentals during summer sessions.

Return From A Different City
If a student returns their cell phone by shipping it, please follow the instructions below:

Shipping From Within Italy
Use “RACCOMANDATA 1” service only by using a bubble lined postal bag. This service is available in all Italian Post Offices. The cost is about 6 Euro. Envelope MUST NOT includes the information card (credit card size) that was received during cell phone pick-up. This card includes cell number, PIN Code and PUK Code. If the package were stolen, this information can be used to make unwanted calls and student will be responsible for charges. It is not necessary to return that card.

Shipping From Outside Italy
Use an int’l courier service only, such as FedEx, DHL and UPS and DO NOT USE PARCEL POST. Parcel Post is insecure and subject to theft. To avoid being charged extra Custom fees, you must declare: “Used rented phone, value USD$ 10.00 for custom purpose only”. Packages MUST NOT includes the information card (credit card size) that was received during cell phone pick-up. This card includes cell number, PIN Code and PUK Code. If the package were stolen, this information can be used to make unwanted calls and student will be responsible for charges. It is not necessary to return this card.

No claims, no complaints, no negotiations for extra charges are accepted. Your claim should be filed with the company you used to return the phone.

Extra Charges
Custom fees, late return fees and all office and handling costs will be charged separately. Clients will be emailed about the costs. The amounts will not appear in the online billing statements.

This is because that is when you will be refunded the deposit that was paid at the handset pickup. We cannot return this deposit to anyone other than the client.

Lost / Broken Charges
If a Blackberry is damaged Student Cells will send the handset to an official Blackberry repair center. After the problem is fixed, that amount will be deducted from the refundable deposit Student Cells is holding. The remaining balance of deposit will be returned to the client either by check or by crediting his/her credit card.
